About The Chamber
The Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is a 501 (c) (6) non-profit organization co-founded in 1973 by Former Mayor Gus Garcia and 24 other prominent Hispanic leaders. Their vision was to create an organization that would serve and represent the business interests of a small but growing Hispanic entrepreneurial class in Austin.
The Mission of the Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is to lead the efforts that strengthen and support small, minority and women-owned businesses; stimulate and advocate for business growth, development and opportunities; promote educational excellence; and promote awareness and preservation of the Hispanic heritage.
Logo Explanation
The logo is a modern interpretation of pre-columbian Icons oriented in a circle to represent the dynamic relationships and exchanges that are at the core of the Hispanic Chamber.
The image is comprised of five elements, each one representing an area of investment and concentration for the Chamber. They are Economic Development, Advocacy, Community, Education and Networking.
The orientation of the five elements creates white space in the shape of a forward rolling simple star of five points, an emblem used by the state of Texas dating back to its Declaration of Independence in 1836.
The colors of each element are representative of the diverse voices and thoughts expressed in the Chamber’s membership.
